30 Day Declutter

Myself and one of my friends, Sarah, spent ages last night trawling through El's blog, A Thrifty Mrs. I LOVE Mrs Thrifty and her posts; she's a genius. Both myself and Sarah have decided to do the '30 Day Declutter'. Basically after 30 days, 90 items must be gone from my house. Sold, donated, gifted, or recycled. Just out of my house.

There are a few 'rules', and they are as follows;
- Regular house rubbish/ doesn't count (e.g. paperwork, food waste, cardboard, glass, etc)
- If you have something to donate, it has to be out of your house by the 30th day of the declutter.
- You can declutter anything from clothes to books, tupperware to makeup, and more.

Starting TOMORROW (November 23rd), I will get rid of 90 items - that's 3 items per day. The declutter will end on December 22nd, and I will have much less clutter in my house just in time for Christmas.. perfect! If you want to join me on this 'challenge', you're welcome to. I'll try to keep you updated and I will definitely do a post at the end of the declutter.

Good luck! (I'll sure as heck need it)

2013 | Christmas Decor

I love love love Christmas. I love seeing how other people decorate their homes for Christmas. It's interesting to see how people's tastes differ and how extravagant some people are - it's brilliant. Everything about Christmas puts me in a good mood; the people, the pretty decorations, twinkling lights, yummy food and exchanging gifts. As cheesy as it sounds, it really is 'the most wonderful time of the year'. I've had my tree up since early November...told you I love Christmas.

I don't have any 'Christmas candles' yet (only my little Santa one!), but I'm getting more soon. I'm a HUGE candle-lover, so I didn't want to get Christmas ones yet as I'd have them used up by Christmas..oops! You might notice that I don't have much tinsel up yet. I just have to find nice places to put it without looking too tacky or overdoing it with the decorations.

These posts brighten up my day no end, so I decided to do my own...enjoy :)

I actually made the white 'garland' with colour baubles which is on the mantelpiece, and the white wreath with baubles. The wreath was surprisingly simple to make. I might actually post about it soon, so you can give it a go to if you want to get crafty over Christmas!

Do you like these posts? Link me to yours if you do one!

Goodbye October, My Mum's Birthday & Dressing Up For Halloween

I don't know about you, but to me, this year really seems to be flying. Tomorrow, it will be Christmas (I wish!) It seems like just yesterday we rang in the New Year, and we'll be doing that again in less than TWO months. How insane is that? October was a good month, my favourite part being when my fiancé and I travelled to Galway to spend my mum's 50th birthday with her, all of my brothers and some other family and friends. I've included some pictures because it was such a great weekend!

With all of my brothers and my mum. I'm so proud of them all, and I'm very lucky to be part of such an amazing bunch of people. There were 4 cameras in front of us, so we're all looking everywhere...some hilarious faces too ;)

My face is hilarious because of all the cameras, so we didn't know where to look! I can't get over how beautiful my mum looks - her dress is stunning, and she's just absolutely gorgeous.

With my beautiful niece and my beautiful mum...

The yummy birthday cake...possibly the best cake I've ever tasted!

...and this is why I love my brothers! They're just amazing, never fail to make me laugh.

 My dress for the night.

One of my brothers and my mum. I know, I have a great looking family!

The beautiful birthday girl!

The day after the birthday party, there was a fancy dress night taking place for Halloween in the town. We were going to go out for it,  but on the day, we decided to stay in and still dress up. I was the only one who dressed up in the end, but I was a dead/zombie schoolgirl!

Whilst visiting my family, my fiancé and I celebrated our 7 year anniversary! This was my schoolgirl makeup...

 The outfit and makeup...

And a picture with flash. For the makeup, I used tissue, spirit gum and just red, black and purple makeup. Everyone loved it!

That was my mum's birthday weekend - full of fun, laughs, wine, family and food. What more can a girl ask for?

I hope you all had a great Halloween!
